Default Boy gets £44,000 in eBay parcel

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/norfolk/6903433.stm

Police are trying to trace the owner of 65,400 euros (£44,000) mistakenly sent to a teenager who bought a Playstation Two for £95 on eBay.

The cash arrived in a box at the house in Aylsham, Norfolk, on 20 March this year instead of the games console.

The boy's parents contacted police and detectives swiftly arrived at the house and counted the money.

The police are holding the money under the Proceeds of Crime Act while the matter is investigated.

Magistrates have given Norfolk Police until September to hold on to the money before the case comes up in court again.

If the money remains unclaimed the family could potentially apply for it to be returned to them under the Police Property Act.
A police spokesman said: "We have until 22 September before we have to go back to court to apply for a further order if necessary."

Keep it and have a good time with it.

Am i being retarded or what, assumingly if he bought a ps2 and the bloke sent him 44 grand instead of a ps2, its obviously sent by the Ebay Bloke. If it isnt, then the fact he just happend to buy a ps2 isnt even remotely related surely?!?

You guys are all nuts saying you'd keep it.

What happens if you spend ten grand, then the guy who sent it realises his mistake, and sends the heavies round to reclaim the cash...what are you gonna say then? (Maybe I've been watching too much Sopranos )

Or alternatively, it's the same scenario as that woman who spent £135k that the bank gave her in error (World News Section).

    Shooooooo-ryuken!

Yeah exactly - I`m sure it would have been ecorded / signed for or whatever, but who sends that amount of cash through the post?

I`d have kept it shtum for a month or 2, and if I heard nothin start spendin.
If the cunt came knocking for it I`d say I dunno mate I used to have a lodger by that name but he moved a few weeks ago - can`t stay I`m off to Barbados

    Some people are proper numpties...

I'd have moved out of the parents house and rented somewhere, that way if the guy is dodgy and sends people round to reclaim it, I wouldn't be there

I'd sit on it and say f00k all for ages. See how it panned out.
Not many people have £44,000 in a PS2 shaped box knocking around.
The sort of person wrapping it up and posting it is probably up to something he doesn't want to advertise.
Now he's either shitting himself and doing a flit before the fuzz arrive, or he's arranging a squad of homeboys to come take it back.

More likely the guy who sent it is dead now, as his drug boss would have been a tad pissed to recieve a ps2 instead of his money.
