PC The Next Gen of games are here!

Have a search for the following and check out why it is time to go out an upgrade our GFX cards again:

    COD4
    Crysis
    MOH Airborne
FarCry2 (although I only found a couple of screenshots for this one)

These FPS games will put FEAR, PREY etc in the dark when it comes to GFX. And by all accounts the gameplay and AI is also much improved so that in most of these games if you die and have to start from a save point, the game will be dynamic and it wont be the same!!

I cant wait (have already preordered a couple from PLAY already!)

same games yes m8 but not same crap as i think thats a tad harsh, i loved the moh series and still play aa online some evenings as there are a lot of others doing the same.
well looking forward to crysis as i think farcry was mad and a game i could keep coming back to and thats important to me, also all the moh games and farcry have been a good 3 way entertainmet for our family, play the game, lan matches and online.
    keep em coming i say.

heh, yeah i was a bit harsh, i was also a bit drunk since i cant remember typing it!

I am finding it hard to get excited by graphics now tho, after years of seeing unbelievable screenshots, when you actually play it its almost always a disapointment. I cant see myself getting a new gfx card to play these games, as great as they may be. Ill probably just grab a new card in about 18 months when its much cheaper and catch up a little.

lol. as we or most of us realise , graphics dont make the game so i will also need to upgrade my card but wont go for the absolute top one, just one that will manage the job.

These games are all looking nice but nothing new. Crysis looks to be interesting but you need a DX10 gfx card to play it and a fairly beefy machine.

That is why I spent too much on my gfx card ealier in the year so that it would last till next year... with Vista and Dual Core being standard you may find that a card upgrade might not be enough....

Hell I had to put a 1200W PSU in my PC cos the GFX card was blowing the 750W one I had just playing BF2!!!

With games being Dynamic now, playability will rise dramatically as games will be different each time you play them (other than the set pieces of course)...

yea going to need a dx10 card, but the thing is dx10 games arent out as of yet so noone knows how the 8800 etc will perform so no point in upgrading in my view just yet.

I generally find photo clips to be a bit misleading. Real motion video is a much better representation of how a game will look when you play it and therefore how good the graphics are. Gran Turismo has always looked great in photos IMO but not been as impressive in motion.

It always p1sses me off when you see trialers which are infact the cut scenes from the games and not the actual gameplay. Although the more you see of these clips the more you can see which is the game play. Gamespot are quite good as they have a section for gameplay footage only.
