    Default The day is coming....

    Hi all,

Well only 4 days to go till me Subs end with Sky......

Cancelled due to the extortion on the prices, and the football being split up onto Sky / Setanta....

    I had Multiroom and Sky+....

    I HAVE A CONCERN.....

When the subs end, will i loose the Sky+ fetures?
Will I loose all my recordings???? MMmmmm

Im asuming that both boxes will just become freeview boxes???

You wont lose the recordings, just the Sky+ functionality and therefore the means to watch them.

You have to pay £10 for the Sky+ facility unless you are a subscriber.

We lost all our recordings, and all we did was change the name on the contract.

They told us that if you disconnect you lose all your recordings (or become unviewable), for e.g a recording off sky sports will not work as you don't have sky sports anymore, a recording off E4 will work as u still have E4.

This is how I took it on board, but like I said we lost all our recordings.

Same thing happened when I cancelled my VM television service, my Telewest TVDrive box became completely useles for the 10 days or so before they picked it up, I hadn't watched all my recorded shows and films but they disabled it when they hit it to take the service off.

I suppose it amounts to the same thing!

The recordings will still be on the box but as you have lost the PVR functionality you wont be able to access the recordings.

That is unless they actually do a full system reset when you cancel?

No, all data on the sky+ hard drive is encrypted and needs the boxes decoder to make it viewable.

You can use a program called copy+ to transfer recordings when you are upgrading harddrives and such but they are unviewable except via the decoder in the sky+ box.

all recording are locked to 'your' viewing card aswell, I got my dad's old + box and when I activated my card with it all stuff on the hard drive was blank. (even channels that I subscribe to)
