I am not sure if many of you know or not, but occasionally I put the camera down and do my bit for my local community by way of serving at my local retained fire station. Each week we train on different subjects, last week was one of my favourites. Aviation... Bottom line is we all bundle off to the local air field and the civil defence boys let us set light to a huge amount of avgas, avter and several other highly flammable liquids... All in the name of learning I add. This time I got to stand back and watch, well shoot.. Here's the pic's. enjoy...
I have hidden then as there's a fair few. So be warned if you have a slow connection.
The initial burn.
Spoiler:
The learning part.
Spoiler:
The clear up after...
Spoiler:
It's not a bad life being a retained fireman.. Must admit though that the fire took hold faster than I could shot. Also the heat was intense especially when you are only 15ft away from it... But it was a good learning curve and a great excuse to shot something not everyone comes close to everyday...
Hope I haven't bored you all too much..
