PC Please answer this question if you know the answer? its about GPUS.

im going to be spending about $2000 on a machine tomorow, which comes with an Nvidia Quadro FX 3500, however whenever i look at supported chipsets for games such as rainbow six vegas and splinter cell, these cards are not there, even though they are shader model 3.0 etc etc, if anyone knows if these cards will run these games and similar games please let me know, as i am aware these cards are designed for industry level 3D etc etc, which is what im studying, but like everyone i like to dabble in a gaming sesh every now and then and dont wanna spend $2000 if thats not possible.

    machine specs:
    intel core 2 duo E6600 2.4 GHz
    4GB DDR2 SDRAM with ECC
    250GB sata HDD
    256Mb Nvidia Quadro FX 3500

Not sure on the score with Quadros these days but they were always very capable cards but you need to check the DirectX support for the chipset.

    Shading Architecture
Fully programmable GPU (OpenGL 2.0/DirectX 9.0C class)
    Long fragment programs (unlimited instructions)
    Long vertex programs (unlimited instructions)
Looping and subroutines (up to 256 loops per vertex program)
    Dynamic flow control
    Conditional execut1on

    High Level Shader Languages
Optimized complier for Cg and Microsoft HLSL
OpenGL 2.0 and DirectX 9.0C support
    Open source compiler

I would personally be looking for native DX10 support but I would read up on the card or perhaps if you are paying so much for the system maybe change the card out for something that will cover off all your requirements.

I think a 8800 ultra might be a compromise, youd loose a tad on the CAD but gain it alot on the gameing
