Is it really as simple as that?! What about 'stealth patching'? I read that you need to stealth patch games so M$ can't see them? I know where I can find the downloads, but is it really: Download img, load Imgburn, burn, play?
Stealth patching is for playing on live with new FW.
You dont need it if your not going online. Many games are ready stealth patched, NFO usually states it.
It really is that simple for burning, just make sure the layer break is set right if you haven't got a .dvd file to load in to Clone or imgburn

layer break? *.dvd files?
What format do the img's normally come in? Are they usually ready to burn & stealth patched?
when you download an img it is usually as a .iso file + .dvd file
The .dvd file cotains the info for the layer break. Load the .dvd into Clone or imgburn it will set it all for you. Burn and away you go.
If there is no .dvd file you can create your own, or set the layer break yourself in imgburn. It is always the same but I cant remember what it is right now TBH
There is loads of info here, do a search for layer break here, you'll find everything you need to know.
Create your own .dvd file:
open up notepad and put the following information in there:
LayerBreak=1913760
IMAGE.000
save the text document as image.dvd
and use clonecd to burn the image

Would you replace 'IMAGE.000' with 'Bioshock.img' if that was the name of the image file?Originally Posted by rmj266
yes exactly m8
the layer break is there to tell the writer when to stop and continue burning on the next layer. The reason it is there is because the image contains security sectors that have to be written in exactly the right place on the disc, which is the start of layer 2. If the break was not specified then it would burn until the end of the 1st layer which isnt always the same on dfferent discs. The image is stopped at exactly the right point in the file so the next data in the image is correctly written at the start of layer 2.
if the .dvd file is missing then rather than create one you can always specify the layer break number in the imgburn settings....but it'll always break at that point for all dual layer discs
Thats what I was trying to say
"Friendly fire will not be tolerated"
Thank you both very much. So the security sectors are the same on all 360 discs?
