My 360 has finally gone to 3RL heaven, its lasted a good 8-9 months though.
Now, whats the crack with going back, will the retailer swap (Gamestation), or will i have to return to microshite. If so how do i go about returning it.
By the way its a played with one

If you still got warranty label intact try taking it back to gamestation. Every time mine has gone belly up Game (where I got mine from) have swapped over the counter.

My local game refused to take it back... they said send it to microsoft :??? what i was like nooo i bought it from you ? you send it back

as above, if its in warrenty then take it back and demand a replacment. if its over a year then send to ms, simple as that mate

Remember that your contract of sale is with the retailer and not the manufacturer. I think with electrical items this is a grey area. In Dappa's case it's over 6months so it might have to be a repair job.Originally Posted by ant3b

Most game stores are allowing you to pay an extra £20 if you take in a faulty console and upgrade to an elite..... worth asking about. Not sure about gamestation but seeing as they are owned by the same people i think it'll be the same!

Wooow - where did you hear that?! It's almost worth redlighting mine for that?! What are the drives on the elite? Any firmware for them yet?

Well you can either try to fix it yourself the X-clamp replacement or buy a warranty sticker off Ebay and then send it back.My 360 has finally gone to 3RL heaven, its lasted a good 8-9 months though.

warranties can be different with certain items such as TFT monitors - they are manufacturers onsite warranty. These details are on paper when you open up your box.
TBH MS warranty is pretty good atm. They are working hard to keep complaints out of the press.

You cant send it back with the warranty off as they will just send it back un-fixed.
you should expect a possible none flashable drive when you get it back tho.

The warranty sticker is attached and untouched, it looks perfect as it popped off complete when PM played with it.

I've got to say this sounds like you have really got your info wrong somewhere!
Due to the recent price drop, the Elite is £299 and the Premium is £249. (£50 difference).
You are saying that if you trade in you 2nd hand (and broke) 360 and pay £20 you will get a brand new Elite? I suspect that its more likely that those rob dogging shops are offering £20 off the price of a new Elite if you hand in a broken 360!

My mate got his back last week. 3RL and flashed prior to sending.
when he got it back he put in a back up and it worked. Luck of the draw i suppose

Yeah as on other threads there are numerous people who have sent them back without warranty stickers and have had no problems getting them switched/ swapped!
In fact I havent seen one post where MS have fecked anyone off due to a missing sticker!!
Mine had no sticker and has gone back I have no doubt itll be swapped or repaired.

Just rang gamestation on the off chance and the manager has told me to box it all up and he'll do a straight swap. RESULT
Only prob is he wants everything back, hdd and cables, so at worst ive lost me gamesaves. Not to fussed about that though, im gonna ask him to give me 12months on the new box though lol

He said the fault is recorded on the HDD so everything needs to be returned
It may be a ploy to buy games that you may have passed on after completion....twats

I haven't got my info wrong, since i'm in a position to know this sort of info and know it's accurate, i wouldn't say it otherwise!
