So what do we think of COD4?

Been playing the beta all weekend thanks to Drogo and gotta say at first i wasn't sure, seemed very hectic and easy to die. But I stuck with it and boy am I glad, the more you progress up the ranks the better the game gets, more weapons, better perks (love the last stand) and better accuracy with the weapons (red dot) I cant wait for this to be released now. What you have to bare in mind is that every room is almost always full so its bound to be hectic at the mo, but should be more evenly split once the hype dies down a bit and the full release is here.

What do you guys reckon? also anybody seen any decent pre-order prices best i can see is £37.99 from shopto.net

Yeah its ace, love the helicopter strike haha... All very fast paced and controls are very good. Best multiplayer game ive played in a long while. Not sure whether to get the pc version or not now... maybe you need both?

Mine no longer works tho, just keeps saying downloading game settings...

Keep it on that screen and should take you to a room. Can take around 10 to 20 mins.

I love the replay of your death from the killers point of view and the knife attacks are really good.

For me i think this will be better than Halo 3.

I think halo 3 will be better cos of the 4 player co-op, however in terms of multiplayer this may well be a very good contender...

ditto...spot on mate............been rapin it most of the day,it is a really addictive game,altough there are only 3 maps theres lots of explorin to do tryin to find the best spots for snipin weapons are cool aswell,i like the unlock parts to get bits for upgrading ur gun,and them dam flyovers from aircraft found my self waitin for them to watch !!!

I am loving the game ... love the way you progress in rank and aquire better weapons. This game clearly shows that Infinity Ward are gods ... It shame COD3 wasn't done by them, not that COD3 was a bad game far from. Whilst there are a few FPS around now on the 360, they just keep getting better and better. I also think that now that we are a few years on from the 360 launch .. some game devs are now starting to push the 360 in terms of using all the power and graphics .. There were times not so long ago I wouldn't of used a console for playing FPS, but now its the other way around (well until Crysis) is out on PC.

Well i played the game for a while last night. got to rank 5 not to bad really. the game is fast paced and all. but i have been having probvlems with lag and then it crashing. I know its a beta so i cant complain much but in general i really enjoyed it.. i found my self compelled to rank up to gain new perks!!! and challenges!! i also like the fact you can shoot thorugh walls aswell.. i killed a few people like this!

How do you do the annoying thing where you lay down and shoot the guy. So many people have killed me using this cunning trick cos i can never aim down fast enough cos im normally trying for head shots...

its a perk mate. you rank up.. to a certain level then you automatically get it when you die.. but you have to choose the perk in custom class

Totally agree - that is verry annoying when that happens. I was playing it most of Sunday afternoon and it is very very good. It is super fast paced and i love the weapons. Even though there are only three maps, i was not getting bored whatsoever, which is wierd for me...I normally ged bored really easily! I think I may have to buy this to play on XBox live as I can't be arsed getting banned. Once they clear up all the bugs this will be excellent!
I still can't for the life of me snipe using a controller (only keyboard & mouse)

Yeah will have to play the demo on the PC first to see if that is better. Cos im not sure this game seems to be very well customised for live in a way that isn't normally be done on PC (except maybe in the case of BF2). But if they do if right then it will probably look and play better on the PC due to mouse controls.

id say the pc would be better... but i dont have the luxury of sitting in the front room with a 6 pack of carlsberg comfy on my setee while playing style with a pc ..

Yeah I have my PC by my bed and my xbox was well so its both the same comfort wise. It does tend to get very hot in my room tho with both on at the same time.

Why cant technology just be a bit colder...

I think I get an Airstrike once, but died before I could use it - lol! Never had a chopper. The 'overgrown' level really pisses me off though as Snipers really can destroy you if they're good. If I was on a Pc I would mame them...Also pressing down the left D-stick for sprint is stupid.
