tomtom 910 map updates and other info pls

hi all, got a tomtom 910 last year around december time and it came with maps of the world etc etc etc, all legit. am i correct in thinking you get map updates for 12 months or do i have to go downt he other route? another thing to note, when am not eligible for map updates anymore, how the hell do i get the maps of the world lol? i have tried looking places but the furthers i can find is maps of europe and then seperate canada and American ones.

Also, i'm sorry for being a noob boob but is it any different to downloading POI updates on a 910 than any other sat nav.

as i said i have had this from december. i have tried to update it and its saying there is no new maps? i thought i was entitled to free map updates during a 12 month period? am i wrong? seems strange that i should have to purchase them already when i've never even had an update.

Any info on this lads?

You will need to find out your map version and then look at previous posts on map locations and then use the keygen to activate a newer map. Your settings menu should give you the version. Have never used a 910 before but my mobile goes menu, change preferences and then scroll through until you find show version

i have just put the western_europe files on my tomtom and activated fine. new maps are v675.1409. Hopefully wont need to update again for another 6 months or so but i love it really buhahah, i didnt know their was an optioin to change maps. so i can keep my old ones there until i get all the ones relating to each part of the world where ever i decide to travel cos am an international jetsetter really

Good news that you have it working. I suppose its just limited too the size of your memory card !

Do you get to Dundee/Edinburgh area ? I was around there last week without map update and Tomtom lost me totally :-) will be back in the area soon and hopefully new maps will help.
