"An evil exists that threatens every man, woman, and child of this great nation. We must take steps to ensure our domestic security and protect our homeland." - Adolf Hitler, 1933

I remember going to a business computer show at the NEC in Birmingham back in '82 and one stand had a 20MB Winchester drive that resembled a dustbin.
What's computer technology gonna be like in the next 20 years - I can't even begin to speculate.
all i can say is thats fucking mad. look at it with the little flash card in shot, wonder what a gig will look like in storage terms in another 20 years
not to be cynical but a microSD would've been more effective, and that's comparing what seems to be a industrial experiment against a consumer unit, so really I wouldn't be surprised if 1GB of today's memory can probably be maybe about 1/4 of the size of a microsd...
I'm new to this
I remember buying a 1 gig scsii drive (£1000) when they first came out, cost me an absolute fortune. great to see technology from yester year. Soon youll be able to show a kid an old record player or vinyl disk and they wont know what the feck it is

Only in Britain….do we use the word “politics” to describe the process of Government. “Poli” in Latin meaning “many” and “tics” meaning “bloodsucking
creatures”
My mum used to work in portals Mill which prints money for the whole of Europe and i have a photo of her working on the first computer that they installed in the mill. It filled an entire room!

I remember spending my student grant for one term on upgrades for my Amiga 1200. 300 quid for a 512MB external Overdrive HD (went in the PCMCIA slot) and 200 quid for a 4MB memory upgrade/accelerator. 4meg!!!!
Still got my Miggy setup but probably hasn't been switched for about 18 months.
