    Default Darlington 0-1 Leeds

some days i wish Leeds would get beat to give 100% and no injury losses to being top of the League

But i guess a win is a win for a cup we never had

Leeds saw off the challenge of Darlington in the northern section, second round to secure their progress in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Central defender Paul Huntington grabbed the winner for the League One side when he headed in a Jonathan Howson corner early in the second half.
Mark de Vries then struck the woodwork for the visitors after meeting a Wayne Andrews cross. Matthew Green hit the post with a shot at the other end but Leeds held out.

I watched this, we have some good teenagers in the squad. I hope we can keep hold of them. Parker and Howson in particular impressed me.

Don't know what you're worrying about, you'll be top of the league by December the rate you're going, and still the only unbeaten team in the league. I know a lot of United fans really hate Leeds, but I have to admit I find this whole scenario fascinating, only 2 points dropped so far is incredible.

I don't quite understand that statement. They still have the same players, but are now playing in a lower division. So why is it incredible that they are winning games ? If Man Utd or Liverpool got relegated would you find that incredible when they won every game ?

We don't have the same players, only a handful remain from last season. The likes of Beckford & Marques couldn't get in the team. Beckford spent most of the season out on loan.

What's 2003/04 got to do with it??

He was saying that they have the same squad as last season, so with that team they should be at the top of the league.

WTF...... Do you even follow football?

You get relegated not because you have good players.. You get relegated because you have players who are not fit to be in the division you are playing in.. you thick cunt.

He wasn't saying that at all. He said if Man U or Liverpool got relegated (premiership teams)

That is Leeds last premiership team. How many of that team are in the team that has only dropped 2 points this season.

That's what im trying to illustrate.

Most potent ? That was the squad that got relegated from the premiership in 2004.

One of us is missing the point here matey, and I think it's you?

I reckon he means - say Man Utd or Liverpool get relegated this season with their players, then next season with the same group of players, they should be at the top of the league.

Not what team they have in 3/4 years time.

    thick cunt??? you fucking bell-end!

You actually get relegated because you have less points than the teams above you.

Maybe if you learnt that first muppet.

If he means that m8 then he should have stated that, he never mentioned this season. The only comparison I draw from LFC & MUFC is that they are both Premiership teams. Like for like (what he posted) is what I was referring to. It's kinda irrelevantly hypothetical and I don't want to get drawn into an argument on it.

If he is comparing the current Leeds squad with a premiership squad then there is no comparison. Would you agree?
