Free Antivirus & Spyware Needed

I'm using the internet upstiars without anything on it, but i now want to put some protection on it!!

Money is very tight and i cant afford anything at the moment
Just wondered if anyone could recomend a good antivirus & spyware that is 100% free

for anti-spyware look for spybot s&d.
for anti-virus use avg free or (even better) avast - it is free but you still have to register.

Anti-virus check out NOD32 thats pretty good, free from torrent sites.

Mate, I used avast for a while... I think they have a free version..

Think its called avast fro home..

(cant believe you have never heard of newsgroups or torrents)...

I just use netlimiter and sypbot. Never had any problems that system restore couldn't fix either. Net limiter isn't necessarily free tho.

I use Spybot and Lavasoft Ad-Aware in conjunction with each eacher. Once a month I use each to scan, a full AVG scan and a disk Defrag.

I've never used anything but AVG free for antivirus & I ain't had a virus yet.
Use a few different Anti Spyware programs as, unlike antivirus progs, they don't interfere with each other. Never use an antispyware program that pops up & recommends itself to you tho. Stick to recommended ones / ones on site above, cos an unknown antispyware prog could be spyware itself.
I use AVG Antispyware, Spbot Search & Destroy, Windows Defender.

Nod 32 seems very good.Have been using it for a while now with no problems
