    Help What screen?

    Hi people,

I want to move my 360 to the bedroom where i can spend more time playing with it

Now i dont have any tv input ino the bedroom only my pc so would it be better to just get a nice 22" wide screen monitor rather than a 23"tv

If i understand correctly the monitor would have to have a vga input? (the little 17" screen i have now has dvi/vga (blue socket)

I take it i would need a vga lead for the xbox 360 but i would then have to find another source for the sound?

so will i still get HD on a monitor and does the monitor have to have HDCP whatever that is?

Better still is anybody actually using a monitor and if so can you tell me what ya got!

    Adam

My Uncle uses his PC monitor and says it is much better pic than a standard TV.

I am sure the 360 matches the resolution of the monitor, so better resolution = better pic.

The monitor you are looking at will be sufficient.

My Uncles monitor has built in speakers, but his previous one didn't. He still managed to get sound through external speakers, but unsure how he did this.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    ok cheers

so if i go for this one

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=492009

it says it has speakers and an audio line in, does this mean i will be able to use the sound direct through the monitor?

The last one is an extra £100 quid though? Audio line in prob means that you'll need one of those convertors that lets you plug the red and white rca leads into a headphone sized socket.

i run mine on a 19"widescreen monitor, use my stereo for sound, make sure if you get a monitor its widescreen or else you will end up with it letterboxing the screen or it will look streched. When you hook up the 360 to a monitor go into settings on the dashboard and just pick the rez that looks the nicest, simple, and a cheap way of getting hi def gameing

IMO it would be better getting a no name HDTV then that, 340 for a monitor, not really worth it.

yea but the monitor can handle good res for my pc and pc gaming which a cheap tv cant,

I just bought a vga lead and put the 360 onto my 17"tft and straight away was very impressed.

i've ordered a samsung 22" screen which should be here tommorow!
