Has anyone done any CIPS courses ?
If so what do they cost and how did you study ?
Are there any professional buyers on DF ?

About to sign up to start doing mine 4me2 been not a professional yet!!, Even though I have been a buyer for 4 years and spend approx 64 Million a year no questions asked.
I've been looking at various courses on-line with some course work that has to be submitted. I'll dig out some links etc from work and post. Cost was around the £1500 mark the problem for me is committing myself to the time even though i know it will be beneficial in the long run.

I've been buying for about a year now but I know if I want to move on then I need qualifications. CIPS seems to be what they are asking in all job ads .
Yeh I found that one through google too.
Im not sure how to study ie distance online, part time evening courses etc.
Trouble so far I've only found a place in Hastings offering the courses and that too far away from Maidstone.
Obviously I'd be looking at doing the level 3 cert first then progressing.
Now are you saying the level is 1.5K or the whole thing going through to level 6 ?
Yeah would agree with that and once qualified you would earn quite a bit more depending on the industry your in. I'm lucky that i have been in my industry for 15 years so my experience, contacts and knowledge means i am paid well for my job even though not technically qualified.
What industry are you in ??
For the last year blocking paving .
I buy all the machine spares & consumables for the three blocking paving factories at our place. In Germany I worked for Hella (car headlights, indicators& rear clusters) for 14 years in all aspects of warehouse work.
Off the top of my head its was just for the level 3, sure i was dealing witha guy called Wayne but will check that in the morn as well.
I had decided about online because i have not got to commit to the classes at set times which is difficult because of my work load, i so know that it would be more beneficial but its about balancing work, life & study !! (which i have not done for at least 11 years)
Yeah mate, I'm currently in Level 5 of the CIPS qualification.
I'm currently a Contracts Specialist for a large Oil company, working with spend up to ~$500m, so pretty necessary for my role.
I did L4 via the CIPS modular learning, taking 4-5 days out for each course. The average cost was £700-800 for each course, + Hotel (Marriott).
Currently doing L5 a bit differently, with a few of the courses modular via CIPS direct, and a few through teh London Met - which offers self study, distance learning (with a few tutor sessions), or the modular course.
Don't get on DF much these days, but LMK if I can help with anything else?
