Question Dell laptop need bios unlocked

my friend recently aquired a dell c510 pp01L from a car boot sale, bargin at like £150 he thought, then he asks me to reinstall windows on it as its got an admin password at the windows start, so i go into the bios to set dvd/cd rom as 1st boot and the bloody bios is admin passworded.

Hes phoned Dell and they cant do shit cause he aint the original owner and we have no idea who is

I google around for ages on how to reset bios to factory default, only to find out that you have to strip it down to many pieces and short a pin out for 2 seconds, although im struggling to find a guide on the net, only ebay people selling guides.

I have tried all the obvious passwords noobie techs set and its nothing obvious, can any1 suggest an easy way to reset the bios? or any1 who can do the job for a small fee?

If you are confident in opening the laptop up and putting it back together, some can be done by removing the battery that looks like a watch battery for a couple of mins.

Can't you just hit F12 or F10 when the dell logo is on screen to select boot device, says in the bottom corner which key it is, it then pops up a menu asking what device you would like to boot from.

I know this definately worked on the 400 and 600
