Lol I thought intros were compulsory, I have been telling peeps off Well not quite...

The form idea is good, a Form like the movie review form but obv. diff fields.

In the end of the day I sign up to all kinds of forums for one off help, whilst I am there I do try to participate a bit but only because of how it annoys me on here when peeps leech. So it is common to leech, as has been said just need to show newbs its worth sticking around.

I know what you mean, but if DF was a pub, then intros like some of the examples above wouldn't go down too well... That said it doesn't do any real harm.

Like I said, I'm obsessed. I think I must be on my period.

your reply shed a little light on what your future DF character would be.
Thank you all for you kind welcomes. I almost feel part of the family now. I hope to come across you in the forums.

I am so glad I didn't get a knock at my back door for a special welcome from CJ but you never know he may take a shine to me in the future.

    Intros are voluntary guys.

It's also very easy to goad people into posting more by replying to their intros with questions or wit.

    and this: http://www.digital-forums.com/showpo...10&postcount=1

    and this: http://www.digital-forums.com/showpo...02&postcount=1

    and this: http://www.digital-forums.com/showpo...01&postcount=1

Come on, how hard is it to say a little more about yourself, your interests etc'?

I think we should not only make intros mandatory, but have a template/form that n00bies can copy and paste and make relevant to themselves.

Just a few things like: Name, where from, how you get here, what you after, your interests etc.

It would make the first post a lot more useful to everyone if they all did this...

Mods may want to move this to the whine cellar if more suited there...
