i saw the files on a.b.boneless, but didn't think it was worth posting them in case the game makes your wii spit fireworks, you're a brave (*cough* stupid) man spurssaint!

whatever you do, don't let the game update if it does even work.

Hmmm interesting move. I wonder if this only applies to the first party games at the moment. I hope Battalion Wars 2 and Manhunt 2 are okay.

Supposedly when the game is inserted and you press A on the icon it loads then locks up with a black screen and an error message appears:

ERROR 001- Unauthorized device has been detected

    Probably nonsense though.

apparently the metriod demo was the same as this?

I read on gbatemp u get a mario background and mario's voice which would to me confirm this iso is good and the 'protection' is something which will take some time to bypass... ?

who knows, it's safe to say this copy doesn't work out the box, brick blocker and possibly regionfrii are needed before anything else (for pal users)

    ^^heh, good point

billhouse, i wouldn't read into this too much, every time a major release comes out and theres problems everyone heralds it as the end of an era, like previously said there were tons of rumors regarding Zelda on the DS, in the end there was absolutely nothing different about it.
Minor changes to games to stop piracy is quite common, in the PS1/2 days the release groups tended to be a bit more skilled and didn't make a big song and dance about it when they cracked a new game.

Worth buying the game anyway, i will be.

my post probably makes little sense, i was replying to the last page, didnt even see this second page of posts..duh...rookie.

Did you use regionfrii before the black screen? i tried a normal copy and the disc never got recognised used regionfrii and it tried to update at which point i turned the fucker off.

Little update:tried brick blocker and regionfrii together and got the black screen with no warning. So i'm guessing it's the american firmware that will give this message and if i'd updated successfully off the disk before i used brickblocker i'd have got the message.

Oh and i had already done the 3.1 online update in case anyone wondered.

You seem to have got better results than anyone else tho B.I.G., it seems to be behaving just like any other import in your case. You should let it update i think, for the sake of my sanity
