Sounds like the laser is gone mate! Esp if it happens with originals too! What mod do yuo have? Does the config disc for your mod work? If not, then either the laser is dead or a wire has come loose on the mod!

If the console has not been moved, then I doubt its a loose wire, and most likely a dead laser!

IF it is the laser, you can get another one from here. But I would check other things such as loose wires on the mod. Even try removing the mod and seeing if originals still work. If originals still dont work after the mod is removed, then its DEF the laser!

if the wiikey has been corrupted somehow it could cause this, try running the update disk to reflash it.

you could also try altering the pot of the laser before abandonment.

or remove the wiikey and see if that makes a difference.

It sounds like a shit position for you to be in though!

take it back to where you bought it from mate! Print off a copy of your consumer rights, and if they kick up a fuss, show them that it says in black and white that your contract is with the SHOP! NOT the manufacturer! And thats the law!

And as long as the little white tabs that cover up the screw holes aren't badly damaged you'll be fine! You can get replacement feet from here, but not the little white tabs! So be extra careful with them!

    Consumer Rights

Q6. Is it true that I have to complain to the manufacturer?

No. You bought the goods from the trader, not the manufacturer, and the trader is liable for any breaches of contract (unless he was acting as the manufacturer's agent).
Q9. Must I accept a credit note instead of a refund?

It depends on why you want to return the goods.

    • If you have changed your mind, then the shop doesn't have to do anything.

    • But if the goods are faulty, incorrectly described or not fit for purpose, then you are entitled to your money back (provided you act quickly), and you certainly don't have to take a credit note

    • If you do accept a credit note in these circumstances, watch out, as there may be restrictions on their use.

    • If the shop displays a sign stating they only give credit notes instead of refunds, they might be breaking the law and you could report them to Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06. Consumers in Northern Ireland should contact Consumer Line on 0845 600 6262.

just added a link to the consumer rights site above mate, and have a look at the quotes I took from the same page...

Print off that page, and show it to the manager! Tell them you WILL NOT leave without a replacement (or refund if they're out of stock) UNLESS they sign a note stating that their policies BREACH YOUR consumer rights (AND IS AGAINST THE LAW!!)! And tell them that you will take that note to trading standards, and that they will be in touch! I'm pretty sure everything will go in your favour from then on...

    Keep us updated!

No probs mate! What did they say when you showed them that their policies breach your consumer rights? Glad you got it sorted! And as for getting it chipped again, its up to you, but bear in mind that you will almost def have a D2C drive! So it looks like a 30 wire install...

Once i got a Manager it was no problem did not even need to quote my rights but i had to just to get a Manager out.

As for 30 wires i am not doing that but a bloke has just started at my work place and he used to do tv/video repairs so that wont worry him.

Just to way up the odds, Only really played bowling after grabbing loads of games, so i figured there may only ever be a few must have games so why mod, but then i think more choice if i am bored one day. Then theres the PS2 10 min factor. Choices choices choices
