I suffered major from ulcers when on chemo.
Get your GP to prescribe you Nistatin and a chlorohexedine mouth wash. Clears the feckers right up but stings a bit to start with.

You just use a couple of drops of Nistatin daily.

I used to suffer very badly from them until I found it was being caused by an allergic reaction to the bicarbonate of soda that they started using in toothpaste. I now avoid any toothpaste with this in it and haven't had one since.

I used to get them as a kid ,and salt mouth washes cleared them up ,at first after the mouthwash they used to sting a lot ,but after a few times they die down and dissappear ,she also used to grind asprin up for after the mouthwashes and rub it into the ulcer (made it numb) ,havent had them since .Also great for throat infections .

about 3(ish) months ago, i had a terrible outbreak of uclers in my mouth. 1 came up and then loads, i had (all at the same time) 12 on my tongue, 4 on the roof of my mouth, 3 on my lips, 2 on the bottom of my tongue and 6 on the inside of my gums.

I had to have a week off work, went to the doctors and it was described as a viral infection, which was triggered from a normal cold. I suffer reguallary from uclers in the mouth.

I got (and was also recomemended by my doctor) DIFFLAM mouth wash which was bought from behind the counter at tesco. This cleared them up a treat and also aided me to drink water and eat, which i seriously couldnt do without the mouth wash.

It could be a number of reasons, stress is one of them, but also a sign of anaemia. Maybe worth a pop to the quaks?.

    Hope this helps!!

Wulliec is right, Nyastatin is excellent but will have to be prescribed, difflam spray is also good for short term relief BUT it has no anaesthetic properties.

A mouth wash like corsodyll will be good, these are usually used for gum disease and gingivitis. Bear in mind that because they are open wounds, all of these treatments will sting.

My brother recommends Corsodyll, everytime he has an outbreak he'll use this straight away and it clears up for him

I used to get mouth ulcers daily when I had active Ulcerative colitis. I never really found anything to effectively treat them over the year I had them, but I did find that warm tea helped ease the pain as well as avoiding using too much toothpaste.

Yes, i get this, and it works good, as a steroid paste it puts a protective coating on the ulcer, which helps get rid. (I have them in the awkward places like my jaw line near the tooth, very sore)
Adcortyl in Orabase is a prescription, but you can also get it from the chemist, the steroid is just not as strong, but still works efficiently, and at half the price of the prescription.
