    Question wiikey problems

had a wiikey 2 weeks ago fitted it using the wire method tried to start up using a back-up copy would not read the disk, tried to get into the chip to do updates using the 1.3 config disk (downloaded a new version and use an old version belonging to a friend that has worked in the past) still wont read disk the model is leh12487445 this tells me (after using the checker that the wire method and the wiikey are ok for it) while its open just checked the chips and the small one is gc2-d2b and the big one is gc2-d1re-wired it today with a new wiikey and same problem, used the wiring diagram off the wiikey website anyone else had this problem

would appreciate any help at all befoer it go's through the fuppin window

oh by the way used the wire that came with the chip,
first one bought from games4play (could have been a clone, but dont think so)
    second from modchipfitters.com
also the guy on the soldering iron is qualified this is his 7th and he has other electronic experience

    think thats it

right most points now wired direct to chip, see dig
1 and 2 still soldered as before, we believe these to be power and earth.
anyone know which one is which ??
next step is to try and solder the power direct to the chip anyone know which one it is ??
solder to the chip is good no bridging as the original disks work but no back-ups or config disk.

well guys dont know how much mor einfo i can give you tech-heads before blowing up/giving up

have you ground the top of the chip off to expose the 3 pins that are cut?

not that i doubt you guys got to take advice from what seem to be the top two on this subject,

but when i first checked the nintendo-scene wii serial check
    it comes back with

Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-D2B. (which it is)

Your Drive Pins are most likely not cut. (not sure about that bit)

any of you got a picture of the before and after shot of the supposed leh grind down chip method ?
by the way thanks for the time guys

Not being a pro or anything but from doing my own research for my own console it looks like your pins are cut so as advised above you need to dremel your chip. Pizzaman will confirm shortly I am sure.

    yurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

that was heart stopping but it works, shit are them pins on the chip a lot closer in real life than they are on the pictures ? (yes they bloody well are)
    took some grinding down too,
used a dremmel type tool, turned it down to minimum and still used the fingers to slow it down a bit more.
then the almost impossible solder trick we has a 20/1 magnifying glass and a spot lamp on the sucker (reminded me of some war film torture chamber) lol

after it was soldered before soldering back to the chip we held it down with some hot melt glue and allowed it all to cool down before moving on
then we soldered back to the wii key

popped in a back up of tiger 2007 and bobs your uncle, first time no config disk and it done a game update before i tried 9 holes.

so the moral of the story ??
dont trust a number generator to get your chip number right - ask a expert

big thanks go out to 909 - pizzaman - gazza341
