Its BBC Sports Personality of the year soon, and the shortlist has been announced. So who do you think deserves to win?

Joe Calzaghe - Undisputed world super-middleweight boxing champion.

Lewis Hamilton - World championship runner-up in his rookie Formula One season.

Ricky Hatton - Fights Floyd Mayweather for WBC world title on eve of show.

Andy Murray - Broke into the world top 10 despite an injury that ruled him out of Wimbledon.

Christine Ohuruogu - Returned from one-year ban for missing three drugs tests to land world 400m title in Osaka.

Paula Radcliffe - Won the New York Marathon just 10 months after giving birth to a baby daughter.

Jason Robinson - Retired after playing key part in England making the Rugby World Cup final.

Justin Rose - Captured golf's European Order of Merit title.

James Toseland - Claimed the World Superbikes Championship for the second time.

Jonny Wilkinson - Shrugged off injury to help England to Rugby World Cup final.

Personally I thought Calzaghe should win last time, he's another year unbeaten, he is an incredible example of a sportsman, a nice, intelligent bloke - and the best fucking boxer this country has ever produced!

Ricky Hatton for me as Jamie Peacock wasn't on the list.

It has to be a boxer, everyone else are losers. I would say Calzaghe.

Calzaghe IS the worthy winner this year but he won't win because A) He isn't english B) He's not on terrestrial television C) People are fucking morons D) His name sounds a bit foreign. He's been at the top of his sport and his division for a decade and unified the belts.

Hatton is second favourite without having really actually fought anyone this year. Nor has he yet to scale anywhere near the professional heights that Calzaghe has in his illustrious career and has not unified every belt in his division like Calzaghe has but will still manage to come above him in the voting. If the award was given a month later and he beat Mayweather then he would win it. He'd actually deserve it too because Mayweather is the best pound for pound boxer in the world and has been since Roy Jones Jnr's powers began to wane.

As it stands though, the boxing (heterosexual) vote will be split by Hatton and Calzaghe and everyone else will vote for the bottling tax evader.
