Hi guys long post/total noob warning!
I've had this setup installed a few weeks back. 2 dishes connecting to a Dreambox DM500 S, apparently one dish points to Nova Greece and the other allows me to get the Showtime Arabia package (great for Prem footy). My method of subscription is via a CS scheme so my Dreambox is also connected to my router which I imagine is so the bloke doing the CS can send the decryption codes to my box.
The install guy showed me how to create bouquets, so I have the usual Sport, Movies, Porn ones setup.
If I press the Green button (Satellites tab) it shows the following:
HotBird6/7A/8 (13.0E) - new found (44)
HotBird6/7A/8 (13.0E) - provider
HotBird6/7A/8 (13.0E) - services (1378 )
current transponder
Nilesat101/102/AtlanticBird (7.0W) - new found (0)
Nilesat101/102/AtlanticBird (7.0W) - provider
Nilesat101/102/AtlanticBird (7.0W) - services (458 )
It looks like the numbers in brackets are the amount of channels I get from each satellite. Is that correct? Is there anything else I can do with the above information?
If I press the Yellow button (Providers Tab) I get a big list of folders which appear to be named, e.g Globecast, Showtime, inside these are different channel lists. So I assume the folders are just different country's channel packages?
In the Satellite Configuration window, the first thing in the list appears to be the config of my setups. Currently set to "4 satellites via DiSEqC OPT A/B"
Under that we have Sat/Position for each one:
1)HotBird6/7A/8 (13.0E) DiSEqC AA
2)Nilesat101/102/AtlanticBird DiSEqC AB
3)Intelsat9 (58.0W) DiSEqC BA
4)Intelsat805 (55.5W) DiSEqC BB
In the Blue - Panel my Cam is named MgCamd-1.25 which I've been told not to touch. What exactly is this? The guy said I could create my own but I wouldn't know where to start.
So, is there a way to look for more channels? Does the Dreambox have the capacity to hold a HDD so I can record programs on it? What are the possibilities?
Thank you so much in advance for your time taken to read and respond to this thread
