Repaired 360 - Now strange flashing on ring of light

Hi all...

Just got my 360 back from repair following the rrod... all be it now covered in tool marks where they prised it open..... anyway.....

Upon turning it on today i have noticed that the ring of light on the console is flashing in a way i havent spotted before, being that quadrants 1 and 2 are flashing green alternately, the time each quadrant it lie up for seems to be quite random, ranging from 2 seconds to 10 or so

anyone got any ideas on why its doing this?

No idea as to why, only that when I got mine replaced (from Tescos) 6 weeks ago I have noticed exactly the same thing happening.

are you using wireless headsets, i found my headset sometimes fucks about and makes this happen

I'm not. Wireless controller yes, but nothing else about my Xbox is wireless.

i got a wireless headset but the batterys been dead in that along time now so cant see it being that....

looks like its quadrants 1 and 4 and not what i said earlier.. lol

plugging in me guitar has stopped it flashing for now....

I got mine back last weekend, new mobo and DVD, it's been fine streaming the couple of times I tried it but the first time I played a game (Mass Effect, earlier today) I got instant shutdown and 3rl!! TWICE. I've moved it and played for about an hour tonight and it's been fine. As long as it gets me through Christmas I'll send it back again, buy an Elite and mod the old one on it's return, bloody MS!

Maybe just me, but this is where i consider a PS3. 360 hasn't failed yet, but the law of averages says it will.

sorry mate but fuck the ps3 there is nothing to play on it, im not a fan boy but the 360 for games is the only way to fly, even if they do break alot

Maybe the flashing is some sort of new Microsoft Mind control subconsciously telling you not to flash the box or it will 3rl and emit smoke then try and take you with it!!!

my nephew got his back from ms just over a week ago and as soon as he switched it on he got the ring of death, but it still plays fine, and every time he plays it it does the rrod but works fine

i wouldnt mind that, as long as it worked, i like the red as apossed to the green apart from the fact it uselly means the 360 is dead

When I got mine back a couple of weeks ago it did the same.. had bought and extra fan thing for the back.. plugged that in before doing anything.. put orig quake 4 in just to see if all was well.. went out of the room for 2 mins and came back it was 3rlod turned it off once and back on.. not been back since.. that box doesn't know how close it was from being launched across the room

Sounds like the sensor that detects if its upright or flat.

apparently it is just the same as a rol just different being its the falcon hardware failing or so i read

If the console was detecting a problem i would have thought the lights would be RED not GREEN.

im just going off what i read mate because the flcon hardware is designed to throw a different fault hence the lights or could be ms trying to back out of the 3yr fix if its not rol

as some else posted, sure its not the tilt sensor up the swanny, if ts still running fine cant be to much wrong with it
