    Default Rib injury

Bollocks. Injured my ribs a couple of weeks ago at karate , were just a bit sore. Did another session the following Monday and didn't feel too bad until the thursday night session. Got kicked in the ribs full on, fuck it hurt! Anyway, I'm pretty sure I've got at least one busted rib maybe two.

I know the only thing I can do is manage the pain, plain old vanilla paracetamol is working just fine.

Friday and Saturday were painful when I breathed, moved or leaned over, getting in and out of the car was agony! Now it's just sore if I cough or sneeze hard, or press on my suspect ribs.
What kind of time scale do you think I should leave until I get back into it? I'm thinking just rest up until after after Xmas. Have been out on my bike on the days I would normally go to karate to try and keep myself motivated.

    Cheers.
Ooh, ooh, ooh, the funky gibbon.

The last time I broke a rib was fucking about pissed-up and fighting with a Ukrainian bloke who works for me. He used to be the Under-18 wrestling champion in the Ukraine. He got me in a bear hug and broke one of my ribs down the left side. It was fucking agony and I had to climb on a 13 hours flight to Thailand two days later.

I answer to your question, I reckon it took a good 6-8 weeks to clear up fully. As you say there is little they can do for it apart from painkillers.
