I think some refer to it as 'half-bricked'....though it isn't really a major problem.

Half-bricked - thats a new one on me
I thought I`d bricked mine yesterday, with all the isos I was burning I tried to play an NTSC version of Brunswick Pro Bowling and it black screened - wouldnt reset or power off, I had to pull the power cable - I shat myself!

Luckily it just didn`t boot, and I`m now referring to the region compatibility list - luckily these are the symptoms of patching Brunswick to PAL - phew!

So read the "x to PAL" list found here: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/index.php?ti...lity_List:_PAL
Use PAl version if possible, and keep upto date on the firmware, and you won`t have to do what I did and crack open the xmas prezzy pants earlier than you`d hope

cant remember if this was the post this was discussed before, but i learnt today that the D2C chip IS updatable, BUT only by soldering *something* to the 4 connections on the UNDERSIDE of the modchip and then flashing it. How the punter is supposed to do this, who knows.
