Well due to demand I am uploading this myself now. Looks like PPCwarez.org is gone

Basically if you have the new model where the original software is on the unit you need to buy a SD card and copy these files onto it as well as adding a TomTom map folder on SD card ROOT dir. If you have the old version then use the original card supplied if it will fit.

Once all put onto the memory card plug it in and turn the device on and there will be a GPS button added to the main menu that will take you to TomTom and iGo. You now have MyGuides (iGo generic) software, TomTom, and iGo! So use whatever you prefer. If when launching one of the new GPS softwares it has a timeglass that doesn't load anything simply power off, use the reset button on the rear and voila!

TomTom GPS Settings:
Launch TomTom, in the GPS settings use:
Baud rate: 9600
Other NMEA GPS receiver
Connection COM5 (1st one)

OPTIONAL

If you want to have some real fun then you can add a button to Explorer.exe to play games, possibly MP3s, MP4s etc.

Before you copy the ADDONS.txt file to the memory card open it and add this to a new line under [modules]:

Explorer = "", "\\Windows\\Explorer.exe", 1

tried it and it all works, howerver it cant detect the GPS unit, maybe its becuase im indoor, but it can usually clear a signal in a few mins.

which option did u try mate?

On the GPS settings the baud rate should be 9600 I think, other NMEA GPS receiver, but not sure on the connection on the last option. There are only 4 to choose from so maybe try each and post back results?

Try outdoors, I have never got a TomTom working indoors although iGo does.

I have a myguide3100 and installed tomtom,igo8 and explorer onto the device. Everytime i open the the device and go to tomtom it informs me that i have no maps. Now i have followed another guide as to doing the meta tags etc and copied the map folder into the root directory with no luck. I kept the map folders name in the same format i received it, then i tried changing the folder name to 'map' and still have no luck, can somebody pls advise.

I have tired trawling the net and still have no luck.

What is the version number of the Tomtom software & the full map name & version number ?

I am using the pack supplied at the top which contains igo and navigator (when i open this folder it contains tomtom), how can i find out the versions? I have also got he postcode from here as well

Also the map i am using I downloaded elsewhere - United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_v830.2307

Also with this map somebody included a pdf guide and V8 keygen that I have been using to get the meta tag.

As this is over 2 years old I'd guess that the version of Tomtom is too old for the new maps. Is there anything in the download to give you the version number - or have you got it working ? Try to find a version number from the menu, or see if you can find a file named "ttgo" & open with notepad - should see something like this :-

The v675.1409 is the latest map you can use with Tomtom v6.
