vista wont boot up

ive two internal hard drives

1st hard drive had xp oem installed
2nd had vista installed after xp stopped booting

i installed ubuntu over xp and now vista wont boot
it says bootmgr is missing when trying to boot into vista hard drive

the vista disc freezes up when trying to boot. brings up background
the restore partition will not boot up either
is there any way i can launch the vista disc from ubuntu?

you need to edit grub bootloader,

a quick search on google for this should help you out

take it as a sign that you shouldn't be running vista

you wont be able to boot up Vista, but you will be able to get access to all your files in order to back them up!

I would personally remove Vista, and install an XP or Vista virtual machine within Ubuntu, so that you can still have the features of Windows for certain apps that dont work in Linux.
