Got a Sony 40" KDL4-V3000 1080p TV + Sony 40gb PS3 + 5 year warranty for £899 inc del

Popped into John Lewis in Buchanan Street Glasgow. The price on the website is £999, but when I enquired if they were still doing the deal, the wee chap informed me that it was £899.

Getting it delivered on 8th Jan. Some JLs are doing the deal instore for £999 with and without a PS3, so its your pot luck.

well the sales chap said that it was delivery becaause it comes from down south, even the PS3 is being delivered.

Thanks mate. I called up the local JL, and they had the £999 deal, I told them that I had eard of the £899 deal and they said they could do a pricematch but wanted more information where I saw the deal.
Is it just a case of being persistent to get them to go down or do tehy really need proof before matching?

currys make their money on their own extended warranties. John lewis and sony stores give you 5 years, my parents got a 46" few months back and it also had 1 year accidental damage cover in the box.

I agree *urrys and *omet are robbing gits......I've tried to return faulty goods before and had major problems. I now avoid at all costs unless there is a bargain to be had....

I heard that Debs are doing a free (as if) five year warranty on some TV's therefore may be worth a try?
