help on tyres

Hi All,

I am looking for a rear tyre my sizes is 130/70-17 i already have a bridstone bt45 on the front. Must be good in the wet don't want no slipping!!

Any advice much appreciated.

If you already have a BT 45 on the front then get the matching rear, you dont really want to go mixing tyres about mate especially if you are worried in the rain! Personally I would'nt put bridgestones on me wheelbarrow I use metzler raceteks or dunlops

Doesn't matter what you fit, if you overegg the mixture then it's going to go wrong no matter what.

You don't say what your budget is, but I'd go for a matching rear (cheap, very good grip for the money, and a pretty reasonable lifespan).

Thanks for the info I am willing to spend £100 on a rear tyre as it is one of the most important must have on the bike other than the brakes quality wise.

What bike is it for? And as lighty said i wouldnt mix and match tyres, either keep to your bridgestones or change em both..... I'd recommend dunlop's or michelin personally

is it solo or pillion + luggage?

My bike it is the MZ 125SM just to get to work on and occasionally riding in epping forest it has never let me down and very reliable.

I got it from Jack Nice in walthamstow which closed down after 60 years it was two mins walk away and always fixed it when i have been in epping forest at the weekends.

I took the wheel off and when i went to a friends house in bexley heath i went in to Rileys in crayford he sold me the tyre bt45 and fitted it free on the rim and i put the wheel back on sunday.

If you can get it in the right size, I would recommend the Michelin Anakee. By far the best tyre I've used on a trail type bike so far. Not the cheapest tyre, and did not last quite as long as say Pirelli or Avons (although not far off), but it made wet roads seem dry!
