I know it will do that, as that's what it would have initially done on my AyToBe unit.

Does your unit actually say no GPS Device or no GPS signal?

That setting must be stored in a config file somewhere.

By copying the contents of my AyToBe unit, it's copied the config for that device, which is different to the one for the Navigo unit.

I need to know what specific file it is so I can change it.

All of the links on this page look to have expired, is it possible someone can upload (or email me -I'm not fussy ) version 6.030 which I think is the version Sanj had??

I'm not bothered about the map as I already have it.

Once you unrar the file's from the newzbin file I provided you'll see two map folder's(ignore all the other file's as none of them are needed) within the 'COPY CONTENTS TO SD CARD' folder one is Guam the other is the one you want,the tomtom_map_6.75_UK_and_IE_plus_major_roads_of_WE 1409 folder which is 247mb in size,just extract that folder to your root dirctory of your SD card and rename the folder to Maps,so all you have is Mobilenavigator and the Maps folder.Then use the keygen provided.I've just done another 3 of these for friend's no problem's what so ever.Let me know how you guy's get on.

Ive been messing with this all yesterday evening - but no joy so far. I did manage to get this working on my HTC Kaiser - but not the Navigo.

Strangely, the DL only seems to have the GUAM map - though I have sourced others. Ive placed all the maps into individual folders inside the "map" directory on the SD card - but the Navigo just says "no maps found"

Its possibly a case of numerous posts and downloads in this thread that is causing the confusion! The first .nzb that you posted has unfortunately expired on usenetserver - but have got several others.

I had read you needed to plonk the TT software inside the navigator folder and rename the tomtom.exe to mobilenavigator.exe

I know this reads that it should be straight forward - but its proving anything but!

Any pointers appreciated.

Guv, do you know what version of TT6 you have downloaded?

I believe if you have over version 6.000 you have to edit the registry to point 'MY Documents' to the SD card. Let me know if you haven't done this as it is quite easy, you need to install MS ActiveSync to do it though.

I've tried several - mostly the ones posted here with .nbz The mapset on it currently is 6.030

As I mentioned previously, the biggest headache seems to be differing methods and suggestions within the thread.

My Navigo SD card is safe and sound and untouched. I have tried using a 4GB HCSD card. I'm not completely sure if its compatable - but sure it is because the machine loaded ok when I just copied the Navigo contents over. I Also tried with a 1GB Micro SD and adapter. (I know I should have loads of spare 1GB SD cards - but cant place one ATM!)

If you could point to the post numbers that are relevant, I will try over. Though to be honest, Im not sure of the active sync hack you mention. Yes it has registered a partnership - but unclear whats expected from there.

I am assuming the folders containing the "COPY CONTENTS TO SD" are all that are required? I certainly noticed one of the downloads, only had GUAM maps and not UK - despite some saying it did (and someone else reported this also!)

Is a shame, because I actually have got a genuine TT6 DVD - but unable to use it because its for use with "Go, One or Rider" - Or could this be used? I know I was unable to install this on a PDA (from Vista)

So to clarify, what exactly should be on the SD? Obviously a folder with maps.... one with the Navigo software (or is that now redundant?) I dont have tomtom.exe in the root DIR - which I would expect to see it!

Sorry about not getting back to you earlier mate,what size is the folder when you unrar it?It should be 303mb in size if not i'm sorry to say i'm not sure what's gone wrong as the UK map folder was in there,i'll see if I can find any more link's.

OK, I just unpacked again - into a root directory and this time the UK maps are there - and it is 303MBs. So far so good!

I have copied the folder over to the SD card that says "COPY CONTENTS", but its from here I am completely lost. The SD Card I am using is blank. No Navigo software. Should there be?

I tried running active sync as someone suggested. (Obviously nothing to sync) and could see the mobile device OK - but not do anything to the device folders. But when I switch over to USB device on the Navigo, I was able to "install" TomTom - presumably to the PC hard drive. It also let me do lots of updates - not sure to where it did them!!!!!

I have also copied the "navigator" folder over to "program files".

Is this correct - or more to the point, what am I doing wrong? Nothing happens when I press "Navigation" - but presumable because it is looking for the navigator folder and mobilenavigator.exe file.

I know I will be kicking myself for being stupid...... - well hopefully so!!!

Just to clarify, this is a screen shot from my PC of the SD card connected via active sync.




And the "navigator" folder from the download was copied in full to "program files" on the Navigator (not Windows/programs)


EDIT: Ive also now copied the mobilenavigator folder from the original SD onto the new SD. Then renamed the UK map folder to "maps"...... And still it tries to load turbodog and "no maps found"

Guv - With regards to the ActiveSync you need to connect the Navigo (a guest partnership is fine) and then run a regeditor (regeditCE12) which I can email you if you need me to?

This is how it worked for me:

1. Create a My Documents folder in the root of your SD card
2. Ensure the maps are placed in \My Documents\Whatever-TomTom-Map-You-Have\ on your SD card - I have the Western-Europe map so on my SD card is
\My Documents\Western_Europe
3. In the registry, edit the path of My Documents in HKEY_Local_Machine\System\Explorer\Shell Folders from "My Documents" to "\SDMMC\My Documents".

It literally takes 30 seconds to do and it it doesn't seem to make any difference to the running of Turbodog if you ever needed to run it for any reason?

Just to confuse you further Guv I think that the files in your screenshot above are the TomTom files before they have been installed whereas someone else told me that we need the files from a unit that has already had it installed??

If all else fails mate I can send you v6.000 and that requires no registry change to work, the only thing is there's newer versions than that which people have got working!!

Ive been messing again prior to your message once more (moving the tom tom contents into the navigator folder, renameing tomtom files and ini files etc - but still getting nowhere.

So from what you have down can you explain a couple of things.

On the SD card - is any of the turbodog stuff required? If yes, what?

When copying the "copy contents" folder to the SD card, should the whole lot be copied in the root dir? If not, where? Should anything be deleted? Is anything edited or renamed?

Is anything needed to be copied to the mobile device "program files" folder? ie from that download there is a folder called "navigator" - and that is where it says to put it!

Of course the problem as you may gather is reading too much info - which doesnt necesarily correspond to the same methods on install.... and bang its cocked up!

Anyway... its late (and yet another night wasted!!!!) But I'll get there in the end!!!

Yeh, that may be useful - and I can always then use newer maps using the crack to mid file that was in the pack. But you can get the gist now of what I was saying.... ie "copy contents to SD card". If it didnt mean that........
