Default Compressing audio - mp3's file

    Hi Guys and Gals,

I have some audio files (mp3), which I want to compress and upload onto my website. Obviously, I am not bothered about the reduction of quality when I have compressed and uploaded on my website!

What utilities can I use? I have seen some websites that use real player, and some kind of on-line streaming method!

    Advice will be helpful.

    Thanks
    R

Why are you not bothered about the reduction in quality? mp3 is a lossy compression whatever bitrate you use, wma sounds much better for a comparable file size imho, I use Sound Forge because it's what I use from day to day when recording, there are loads of free/shareware utilities around and they all perform to much the same standards, just google it.

I have lots of experience in voice recording too, try to maintain the quality, if you get a quality program like Sound Forge you will be able to play with the files and give the voices more "gravitas" oooer, swallowed a dictionary!

That's all well and good but he's going to need most browsers to be able to read the files, mp* and wm* are the way to go

Download a copy of lame (with razorlame - the windows front end to it).

Can convert into mp3 with loads of options for quality so you can tweak the sounds, also you can do a batch in one go rather than having to do one file at a time.
