    Question Help with connection

Can anybody help me. I am trying to remotely guide my elderly in-laws through setting up thier TV DVD recorder and set top box. They have followed the guidelines supplied with the equipment but are unable to record digital channels.

The equipment they have are Panasonic TX-21MD1 TV
    Panasonic DMR-ES10EB DVD recorder
Humax F"-FOX T set top box

Any help or guidance on where to to find it would be most appreciated.

does the dvd recorder have a digital tuner in it?
if not then they should have their scart output from their freeview box plugged into the scart input on the dvd recorder and be able to select the freeview box as av1 av2 etc and display the freeview channel via the recorder on the tv then simply press record.

out of interest... why a dvd recorder?

wouldnt a freeview box with a hard drive be simpler and a lot cheaper?

I agree Marcode...however the Panasonic is DVD-RAM compatable so at least they can reuse the recording media.

Thanks guys. I'll follow your advice. For info the DVD recorder was bought some time ago and the freeview box is a recent acquisition.
