Acekard 2's are better than both. DSTT's ive had a fair few that are faulty. And theres plenty of R4 clones about, I had a few last week that have bricked 2 DS's

Ive always used the r4s and every1 i have got has worked but i have got them off the same suppliar.

I have seen that the dstts's hold 8gb though and they are cheaper then the r4's.

I think R4 have stopped production therefore there will be no future updates and some of the newer games will no longer work, R4's are getting harder to get hold of, i have a few left, but once there gone i doubt ill be able to get any more (this isnt a offer to sell them, there mine to keep)

Like Danny says theres plenty of clones around, but be carefull

Dstt is a bottom end card imo, theres much better out there, and most are under £15, i dont see any reason not to get a decent card, Acekard 2 and the Edge card are decent

yeah id say acekard too, although theres plenty of good ones. I changed my R4 to a TTDS for larger memory card use but quickly upgraded to the acekard.

Looks like theyve changed batch from when I last ordered, packaging is different...

the TTDS works fine, the main beef i had was that you cant organise your roms into subfolders and the menus themselves are annoyingly slow so trauling though 2-4 gig of roms is a chore. Cards like the R4 and Acekard allow you to make folders and have a much faster GUI anyway.

Whoever asked earlier. the Acecards work pretty much the same as the R4 with their system menu files etc.

Ive never had a single problem with Acekards, yet ive had problems with R4's and TTDS's. Yes all of them use Micro SDs. Original R4's only go up to 2gb. TTs and Acekards go up to 8gb i believe. Also the menu's load faster and games load quicker with Acekards.

the build quality is a bit crap on all cards ive seen reciently, i think the cycloDS has a nice build but is also much more expensive. The original R4s were quite solid but the clones arnt quite as nice. Either way it doesnt reallly matter, my acekard never comes out of the slot anyway.

I ordered 2 acekard 2 from cheapmods and have been sent 2 edge cards instead, has anyone got any feedback for edge cards, are they any good, do they have good support?

Or shall I send them back and ask for what I origanlly ordered?

Ok ordered an AceKard 2 for my nephew and put an old 4gb MicoSD card in. Works a treat, however a few minor niggles with the interface. I do prefer the R4 one when you select a game and if a cheat is available the box appears at the bottom. With the AceKard you have to select the rom then go into options and see if a cheat is available.

Also if you want to reset you first need to select the option in each rom, with the R4 you just made sure the button in the corner of the interface was green.

The build quality is a bit cheapy, no screw, just held together with plastic clips.

I'm just being picky but these niggles aside, it works great and is so cheap so I do recommend it.

which is the easiest to use as am total noob to this
is the cyclo pre installed so i only have o drop roms on to card?
    or does it need programming?
is there a card that needs no programming and can be just plug and play?
where is the best place to buy either cyclo or what is recommended for me (the noob that i am)?

many thanks for any helpful advice on this.

The CycloneDS has more advanced features thats why its dearer than other cards.

None need to be "programmed". All you do is download the software/firmware from the website of whatever card you get. Drag the firmware onto your memory card (same as you would drag the games) and then put your games on. They all work the same way.

Hmm... Read throuh the whole thread but there doesn't seem to be a clear distinction of which card is best.

So far it seems that the original R4DS is better except that it only takes 2GB.

But isn't that fixed with the latest firmware update.

Any suggestions or further light in this matter anyone.....?

    PS. Which card ?

Cyclone DS is the best card out but its alot dearer.

Next for me is Acekard 2.

Then Original R4 (still only takes 2gb I believe, anything above is a clone)

    Then TTDS
