Security problem

For some unknown reason I have a Security toolbar 7.1 on my browser and can't get rid of it! Also keep getting a yellow exclamation in the bottom right corner which pops into a Critical warning message saying your system is probably infected with the latest version of spyware CyberLog-x

It is aslo trying to install a program from antispykit.com called ask_install.exe

My mcaffe virus scan did not pick anything up wrong at all.

Also bloody virusranger.com is popping up. My laptop has gone mad

How can I get rid of all this junk?

Run Spybot and see what it finds first off.

I clicked on tools on explorer,internet options then advanced then reset. Seems ok now. All my cookies gone but no pop up so far.

Unlikely that a reset via IE options will clear any browser hijack spyware long term. It may well run itself upon reboot or some other trigger.

Run the Spybot (make sure you DL all updates once installed). See what it finds.

Fixed one of those things then screen went blue, gave me a error then reset the laptop!!! Yeah too much porn

You could treat each problem but as Marcode said, reinstall windows. It'll be quicker and 100% effective.

Download DVD's from NG's or torrents and stay away from malware sites!

Yeah gonna have to reinstall. Laptop even slower now!! Have to find my Broadband disk and other stuff. fu(kin TV blew up last week, now this. Oh well off on Holiday for 2 weeks Monday. Hope the plane is ok lol. Bolox
