PS3 hits 10.5 million sold; aiming for 11 million goal in March

Just a little update on the PlayStation 3 sales front, if we may. According to an article by the Associated Press, the latest sales numbers for Sony have been released and the PS3 has sold, not shipped, but sold, 10.5 million units and are well on their way of hitting the 11 million mark by March, as planned back in December. That's really it. Um, you can argue whether or not Sony actually is counting units sold only, or count units shipped as sold. We'd like to believe it's the former. That way, we can cheer Sony on and hope they hit their goal by the end of March!

The release of Devil May Cry 4, GT5

rologue, Grand Theft Auto IV, Home and especially Metal Gear Solid 4 over the next 4 months will give a huge surge in sales and keep momentum through till the holiday releases. Great few months ahead!

DMC4 hasnt sold very well so far, not even in japan and MGS is unlikely to be out within 4 months.
I think the biggest boost the PS3 will get will be Blu-ray becoming the home HD standard. I expect sales to spike next month due to the recent news.

DMC4 has'nt sold that well.... i could not get the blooody game all weekend in Watford, checked all the likely suspects Gamestation/Game/Zavvi/HMV/Woolworths and all of them had sold out..... picked it up today from Sainsbury's though...

Anyway its great news on how many they have sold, BluRay will kick off big time now HD has gone down the pan.....
