Free hd on bbc

Guys, just been watching bbc 1 and the program on there said it was in HD, can you get hd through a built in freeview lcd, or do you have to have a externall sky hd box?????????and if you have to have a external box, whats the point of having freeview built in on a hd ready tv then.?

HD Ready mean it has the correct sockets etc.
There is no terrestrial (freeview) version of HD yet.

BBCHD is not available over the digital terrestrial network as yet tho some trials were done in London around the time of the last football World Cup.

BBCHD is readily available on other boxes than Sky HD such as Technomate and Humax HD boxes via satellite tho.

In relation to your last point the freeview tuner is nothing to do with the panels ability to display HD images, its for connection to external boxes such as a PS3 or xbox360 or Sky/ cable box.
