Hen-Tea-elle Cable modem (Ambit 250) Config login problems

Hi Guys,

I have recently aquired a N*L cable modem (Ambit 250) thats had the firmware "fixed"

Once the Ambit 250 was connected directly to a PC via RJ45 i ran both Ambit tool and 250 conig utility to try and acsess the router to insert the new mac ID but then ran into a brick wall as far as login and/or password failure.

I assumed (maybe incorrectly) there was only "infinity" firmware and tried the standard password and login as already specified in both config programs (Login: admin & password: infinity).

Any idea's appart from a small fire or returning the 250

Please forgive my noobness this is uncharted territory for me & thanks in advance

its not Infinity its Infinite mate it the username box put admin and in the password box put Infinite this is of course in the 250 configurator i'm talking about.

You didnt say if you are using a web interface or Hyper Terminal.....

you could try:

Login: Infinite
Password: SetValue

I used both: Ambit tool and 250 conig utility but havnt tried anything via hyperterminal yet though i have read the read me's and it seems the password issue would still be there.

And yes i have tried the login details above, but thanks anyway

hi mate i was tring to do my modem i done all part and it goes well but when i put 192.168.100.1 on internet explorer it asked me for username and password i did put Infinite and SetValue but it comes up error on page 401 error unauthorized i am using hyper terminal will you help please
