Console Not Reading Games

I got my mates console and it dont seem to read any games at all, tried backups and originals but no luck. you can hear the disc spinning but nothing happens.
laser problem? send it to MS?

yup, 100% a laser issue! my mate just bought a 360 off ebay for £60 with the same problem and im fitting a new laser for him (thanks to Pizza-Man for the laser) which should be here today.

I dont have any spare lasers, but if you can source 1 I will happily fit it for you. But it really is VERY easy to do!

Just open the console, remove the drive, undo the screws to open the drive, unplug the cables connected to the drive & drive board (if its in the way) undo 1 screw to remove a rail. Take out the old laser. Remove the anti-static solder blob from the new laser with a soldering iron, then fit the new laser in the reverse of removing the old one.

Job done!

iv just sent pizzaman a PM so just waiting for reply. hopefully if he has a spare laser and installs it that would be top. i dont really want to install it myself as its my mates 360.

cheers mate! Recieved the laser and fitted it! Works a charm! was just about to PM you to see what happened to the Hitachi board.

Let me know as soon as you get one please. Kinda need it as soon as poss really.
