2 19" monitors: 72 watts
4 hdds 32 watts
cpu 45 watts
gfx 20 watts
other 15 watts

giving a grant toal of 184 watts.

which sounds kinda excessive... what about you?

Doesn't run on a Mac but I'll be sure to turn my Mac off between keystrokes to help out.

For 184 watts of usage works out as follows:

Amps x Volts = Watts 184
Voltage Rating = Usually 230 Volts 230
Amps rating = 0.8
Hours used in month (use an average) = 720 (On 24hrs a day)
Kilowatts x Hours = Kilowatt Hours or kWh = 132.48
Cost of electricity (in pence per kWh) = 10p (Example)
kWh x pence = Cost (in pence) to run the Item for 1 month = 1324.8
Divide by 100 to get to Cost in £'s to run Item for 1 month = 13.248

£ Cost to run all such Items in house for 1 month = £13.248 at 10p per kWh

mine comes out at 199 watts but is bollocks as it sees all the removable drives from my card reader so reports 8 connected drives when I only have 2 HDDs. It also says I have 2 monitors, in theory yes I do but one is my TV which isn't showing anything from the PC.

Dunno m8 is only 9600GT they supposed to be low powered??? be interesting to see what a 9800GT would get?

more to give you an idea of usage based on the type/number of powered components in the case.

Perhaps I am being a little thick here but considering most modern PC's would laugh in the face of a 200 watt PSU... and usually require at least a 300, 400, 500 watt psu then I would have thought that most PC's use at least 200-500 watts even before you start talking about a LCD ???

Although I think the cpu power may be out as it seems a little slower than most of yours.

Also it says 2x19" = 72 watts, just checked the specs for my 21's and they can take up to 160w each!
