    Default Disable membership (for now)

Can we stop getting new members/noobs im sure everyone has noticed the sudden surge of members joining just to get the vm keys.
Its just extra tidying up/banning for mods etc and it doesnt look like its going to stop anytime soon?
    What do you think?

Even if only a handful of 500 signups stay around then it's worth it I think.

Its ok im on the case with new members
if they post for keys or anything about other issues
They have one chance to re-think it or their thread will be deleted or they will be banned depending on their post

check out the rules in the intro section for further advice
DF is here to bring in new members, as long as people can introduce them to this section and be nice. perhaps they will stay and be valued members. this is what DF is about.

Agreed. There's enough staff to handle it. As long as we give them a chance and show them the way then all should be fine. If they don't play the game though, some of them aint gonna last long.

There are no keys here so no problem.

i'm not prepared to turn new members away because amongst them there will also undoubted be some talented people and future VIP's and mods etc.

    Yawn
Do you think a guy who is looking for the keys is going to give a shit if he gets banned or not? did you miss the thread were 4me2 got pm'd asking for keys? its obv its all about dbox keys and not about df. That is what df is not about

This kind of surge has happened before when biggys was REALLY big (took spence about a week to sort that and with a bit of brown nosin he got made a mod for it )
Im assuring you now the next lot of members for the next few days are going to be all about dbox..ive seen what the problem is 1st hand with the keys and its going to take a while

True, I noticed a sudden surge but 4me2 made the move to restrict access to certain sections. Hopefully that will help us cope with the influx and we have enough talented staff to deal with them all.

Plus immediate banning with dud/leech posts that aren't reformed members in x amount of time is a great idea.

Please note: This is not a brown nose post, I think most veterans of DF would agree with me.
