Cracked fronted heated wind Screen

It is my Ford Focus with front heated wind screen that developed a line of crack. It started from the middle from the bottom. The line of crack goes up for about an inch and a half. Is it possible to fix this crack instead of replacing the whole screen ? The mechanic said that the crack could only get larger due to wind pressure when driving if not sorted.

if the crack is less than a pound coin it can be heat treated
i had one from a stone chip
cost me nothing from autoglass on my insurance

once it spreads its dangerous. get it seen to matey

same here on my focus,

are they prone to this kind of thing? just bought it and I seemed to get more and more hits, luckily only one has caused damage which can be repaired

Same here. Also a solar reflector and has sensors for auto wipers and lights. Got to wonder how much it'll cost when it does happen :/ My arsehole opens every time something hits it lol

Should cost you no more than around £50 on your insurance for a whole new screen. That's what it cost me for my focus heated windscreen. Just so happened that I got a fucking great chip that couldn't be treated the day before my MOT was due

Mine was treated on insurance by RAC, for free and didnt affect no claims

My insurance is with CIS - just went to RAC windscreen place in Purley Way and they send the invoice to your insurance company.

The focus I had had a heated screen and it cracked too. It was replaced for just the glass excess on the insurance. 2 weeks later the passenger airbag went off and the cover obliterated the glass. didn't bother replacing the screen as the rest of the car was useless too.

the amount of stone chips on my bonnet is unbelievable

Got it done now on insurance, only cost me the £60 excess and a few hours whilst it was being done.
