It's come a bit hasn't it?
The original GTA was pretty groudbreaking in that it was one of the last games that would run on a non-pentium non-3D carded PC.
I bought my 56K modem off one of the programmers of the original GTA before he moved out to the states.

I remember reading somewhere that in gta 3, the more you run, the more stamina your guy builds up. Don't remember seeing that screen with him in a gym though.
