    Ok now that's done.
I think what you mean is that you want a HD picture from your normal aerial. Not sure a z cube will do that for you.

you would be better off waiting till the new bbc and itv satellite service is released later this year. then you will get the Hd channels for free, you will only need to buy the equipment and install it.

a up scaler box (if there is one) for terrestrial tv will soon be obsolete when it is turned off.

Pretty sure HD can't be broadcast over the air. Isn't that the reason behind FreeSat?

Tech Re: ive got a z cube

Something like this video processor ??

The iScan™ VP50PRO is the world's first video processor to incorporate HDMI 1.3 compatibility and the first to earn THX Video Certification, the industry's premiere hallmark of quality, usability and compatibility. The iScan VP50PRO converts standard definition, high definition and PC signals from your DVD player, HD-DVD player, Blu-ray Disc player, HD DVR, game console, or PC to any output resolution up to 1080p.

The VP50PRO serves as your complete A/V hub, providing audio/video switching that simultaneously eliminates A/V lipsync and allows a one wire connection to display for all your video needs.

You wont get a better Video Processor.

There is no difference it depends how well the tv de-interlaces

    Anyway ....

Ideally you want the HD source signal to be displayed on your screen with as little processing as possible and leave it untouched. This is very hard to do unless you have a full HD resolution screen (1920x1080 progressive). You will also need a screen that can display Blu-ray movies as intended 1080p/24 and not incurr any processing via pulldown ( ie 3:2 ; 2:3 ; or even 2:2:2:2:2:2:2:2:2:2:2:3 <--- I didnt make that one up! )

Native 24 frame/s formats offer the greatest image quality and coding efficiency, and are widely used in motion picture and high definition video production. However, most consumer video devices do not support these formats and need to be converted/processed.

Thanks. I understand what you're saying... I think! Basically there is little commercial A/V equipment that meets the native format anyway, so in the most part the 1080i/1080p argument isn't moot.

What I want ideally is a article that states that due to the distance you would need to sit away from a 50" plasma, your eye wouldn't notice the difference between a 1080i and a 1080p screen. So I can wave it in his face...
