    Question Karma

Personally I could be a nasty piece of work when I was younger for little or no reason but as I've matured and learnt, I can say hand on heart that I only ever give out to people what they deserve or have brought upon themselves.

What goes around comes around? Is there any truth in the saying? Have you had any experiences that can prove or disprove the theory? Do you try to treat others better as you believe it could come back to haunt you?

Yeah karma has done me in the arse a few times

    Take this classic example...

I work in IT, gone to a office to fix a problem, doors open, i walk in and the old fella sitting their with full porn on the screen, talking XXX.

I made a noise, he flustered and shut it all down, i chuckled to myself wondering of all the evil gossip i could tell the team...

For what ever reason, i layed off and didnt open me mouth.

The next couple of days go past, im surfing DF in a sized down browser, theres a thread called "fancy an indian" - before even thinking about it i click on it thinking its a DF ruby meet up

low and behold its in the dirty section and up pops load of stills of an indian bird being rogered from all angles!

At that second, my network manager walks out the door behind me with "whats that spencer" .

I close it down quickly, ah some dirty pop up, i was looking for a serial .... cough..

Moral of the story... dont spread shit you dont have the full facts on

    hehe.

    Karma my friend.

I swear by karma. I'm not a religious person or anything like that, but I do strongly believe in "what goes around, comes around".

Even tho at times I feel I do a lot of "good" and don't seem to get much back. I've learnt that, that's not how it works ;-)

Karma will bite you on the arse all right. Don't pi$$ karma off and you'll be fine.

A close friend was very sceptical, and often took the pi$$ on my "views" on some things. Needless to say in the end after karma had bitten his arse raw, he learned that karma is not to be messed with!

I'm sure if I think about it I have numerous good and bad karma stories. Some just a case of justice being served, but some you just have to hold your head to the sky and smile.

From my experiences I buy into "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished" rather than this Karma theory.

example: Mate of mine saves a young girl from drowning, he's a local hero. A few weeks later he and his wife are wiped out in a motorcycle accident. Where is the Karma in that?

They say suffering is good for the soul and I firmly believe if you have truly suffered you will be a more tolerant, forgiving individual. I've worn a pair of nipple clamps non-stop since 1986 and you couldn't wish to meet a nicer guy.

I treat everyone as equals, even though they clearly aren't.

I was in Barcelona with the missus, enjoying a drink on Las Ramblas when we were approached by a distraught looking Tunisian man holding a baby. He explained in French that he had become seperated from his wife at the main train station and needed to find his way to a police station to try and get reconciled. She had with her all their money, cards, mobile phone and most importantly the baby's feed and diapers. To be perfectly honest I did feel suspicious that this could be just another street scam, but never the less we took him to the nearest police station where my wife translated the story to a very uninterested looking desk sergent.
He shook his head lazily and suggested that we go to the French consulate, where the Tunisian claimed he had come from. By now it was getting late and we had a show to go to, so once we were outside I pulled out my wallet and gave the man €50 for the cab fair, some food etc.. Looking very uncomfortable he refused, but knowing Arab sensibilites well I insisted and told him it was for the sake of the baby who by now had gone about 4 hours without a feed. Looking pathetically grateful he pointed to my business card and asked me for one. Feeling quite akward myself now I handed it over before he climbed into his cab, and we got on with our evening.

A week later I get a call from the post room to say a package was waiting for me. It was a case of champagne from the Tunisian together with a sealed envelope containing a BNP Paribas cheque for €50 and his business card. He was a senior VP for the French oil company Total SA.

Someone is going to copy/paste that with a little edit and its going to become the next "black man said down in the lift" myth

When I was younger, I often was a right cunt, but things were nearly always sweet. I grew older (and like to think into a lot less of a cunt) but it often feels like my good luck ran out ages ago back when I was on cunt mode.

So by trying to be a better person, I can't say I've noticed any good, if anything the opposite, but it hasn't made me change my mind in how I treat people.

Personally, I think it is all a load of unfounded crap.

What happens, happens, not due to any higher power influencing the situation depending on how you have lived previously.

Some cases though, situations are going to go full circle - but thats not karma.

If I kill an ant, I am not going to get a karma'esq return of fortune - unless I kill an ant that knows people, or I am stupid enough to walk into a nest by chance and get bitten. On the other hand, if I piss a colleague off deliberately, and he goes on to be my boss and gives me a hard time - thats not karma, just a bad decision on who to fuck with.

However, if someone was to give me so cold hard facts on karma actually existing (not coincidental stories) then I stand to be corrected.

One of the hardest life lessons I think I've come to appreciate is as follows:

"Bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people."

Life is a cunt like that.
    All sweeping statements are wrong.
