PSP Black screen?????????

Hi there
Probably not the first time this has been asked, looked around the forum but couldnt see anything so thought id ask, my son has a 6 month old PSP and his younger sister managed to get her hands on it, its taken a trip down the stairs.....it now boots up fine but when it does the screen stays black, the sound works, the green and orange led's flash as they should, you can hear the games booting up but thats it....
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a dead scren mate, good news though Sony are running an exchange program at the moment for faulty PSP's or PS3's as long as the warranty sticker is intact and you've got the battery and charger then they'll send out a refurbished one via parcelforce and pick up your broken one for FREE
