Wanted Wtd: Mountain Bike - High Spec

    Guys,

I am after a new mountain bike as i have started to get more into climbing and downhill, why go direct when you can leap over that chasam....!!!

I am after a full sus frame/bike depending on cost, i am well pissed off that i missed an Orange frame with shock on ebay at the weekend and was wondering if anyone was thinking off selling theirs or new someone who might be.

Prefer cheap but not a cheap bike if that make sense, i know i can get a full sus from Halfords for £100 new but i do not think that it would like my meger 19 stone...!!

    Thanks

Hmmm. What are you looking at paying? Leisure Lakes do some good older models and also have some second hand stock as well. Worth a look and giving them a bell as to what they have. High spec I would be expecting circa 2K?

    Thanks Bert...

I am looking more for a 2k bike from 3 years ago for about £700 or a frame that have been well used for £300-400, i have a half decent hard tail that i am prepared to use as a donor for parts.

I am majorly pissed off because i saw an orange Sub 5 on ebay for £300 and the guy said that if i collected he would do it for £250 cash, i thought about it to long and it went.

    I am GUTTED......

Just wondering if anyone has one in the garage gathering dust...

What Bert said. If I was buying a DH bike that did XC as well then i'd be tempted by an orange of some sort. This one is one of their cheapest.

    Just contemplating my options...!!!

I have spoken to Orange (Just down the road) and they have a 2006 ex demo "5 " http://www.orangebikes.co.uk/2008bikes/five-s.phpframe that has been stripped and resprayed with a Manitou shock for £500, i think that i may just get that.

Had a look and i reckon that for £350 i can put a decent new drive train, gear set and brakes and bars and just use my current wheels and forks till i get a few quid to upgrade them.

Think i will give them a call next week and make a purchase.....
