Reading Keys From Old 360 DVD drive and injecting into New Drive

Hi guys,

Had my 360 since day-0 and now all my new games are saying 'unplayable disc'

It is the Hitachi drive and the replacement will prob be the same.

I have usb360 and SATA card and have used the likes of iPrep etc for flashing so I'm not a newbie, but i'm also not a pro

Any help to get my keys from one to the other will be great thanks

he will need the key of the hitachi

But if all your getting is disc read errors, then I would try a new laser first! Much cheaper, and also a fair bit easier than replacing the whole drive.

Any pointers on where to get one?? I'm comfortable fitting it

ps. Thought I'd mention that the only way I can get the games to play is by soaking them in hot water for 5 mins, drying them off then sticking them in the drive, then they play ha ha

Yes, they are. You can get one from ebay.

You could also do a temp fix by cleaning the lens with meths or other alcohol (not the drinky poos type)

try tweeking the laser first if it a first hitachi like mine was i tweeked the lazer 3 times i was as low as 2.6 om(where is my headphone shaped symble) on my meter till i brought a new lazer
