    You probably will have some scope for upgrading a bit, but you won't get a dual core in there.

    I've got the model before, the 8300. It originally came with a 2.4 ht @ 800Mhz which was the absolute lowest in the range. According to my manual the most it will take it a 3.06 HT @ 800Mhz.

    So guessing from that, you won't be able to make massive speed gains, but old chips don't cost much these days.
