I saw the Gadget Show a few weeks ago and they tested a £20 and a £120 HDMI to HDMI cable using 2 TV’s the same and 2 Bluray DVD players the same.
they set them up side by side played the same film on both and there was no difference in the picture.

They said that as the signal was digital so it would either work or not and there would be no difference in picture quality.
