Rubbing Thinners on your head is a really bad idea

Ok so im building a new room at the back of the house and as its mostly below ground level therefore I decided to "tank" out the walls and floor before I board it.

All is going well until i decide to clean up. no probs thinners on a rag, rub my arms (I know not really a good idea but it does the job)

Then I realise I have tanking compound (Damp proof sealant) on my face and in my hair......no probs, more thinners on a rag rub it off and scrub it out of my hair with same rag. Comes off no worries at all. Feeling pretty happy with my self I start to tidy up the brushes etc.


AARRGGHHHHH 10 seconds later and my head is under a hosepipe. that wasn't a bloody good idea.

Stings like a bastard, now sitting with a bag of frozen peas on me bonce

So ppl a warning.

had a cold once when i was 18,i boiled the kettle and poured in a jug and slapped a lob of vick in the jug,not happy with that i ran a red hot bath lobbed a load of vick in and let it melt in the water--waited half hour then jumped in bath,i inhaled that pure vick smell and it cleared my blocked nose.after 20 mins i started to wash my self down ,cock balls an all,you know wot coming next--fukin hell my bobby helmet and my ballon knot were on fire like a mofo,i jumped out the bath and filled the sink up in the kitchen and placed my burning ass and balls in the water,it took over an hour for the vick to where off.

e45 m8 help it. i carry a thinners rag in my pocket (sort of hanging out) all day. took the fecking shin of my thigh

I worked for a couple of years in a materials testing lab, basically where we used to test tarmac and the like (Yawn)
Anyway, we used metholyn chloride to strip the tar from the stone so we could test it. Normally a splash on your hand made your hand go cold as it evaporated in the air (a bit like the sensation when you get lighter fluid on your fingers)
No problem........
Until I spilt 25 litres of it over myself, focussed particularly well on the groinal area.
Without air to evaporate it, it burns, and boy did it,

Fuck me! I was away like a greyhound, through 3 labs and jumped straight into a big water tank..

Took ages for the stinging to stop and I kept finding little bits of grit under my lid for ages lol

i had to keep washing my star and manhood with real hot water to remove the vick cos its like grease so only hot soapy water will shift it,let me say it hurt in a sexual way as well lol

Not quite as extreme but on my 16th I was going to Southend but woke up and couldn't physically move my neck, mother put way too much deep heat on and it burned and stank for hours!

Also managed to set my hand alight a few times with lighter gas, didn't hurt though just burned off all my hairs.

i've cleaned gloss off my hands before with this paint thinning gel stuff, it produced a sensation that was similar to burning hot & freezing cold pulsating randomness. I now use latex gloves and it makes the whole job a million times easier.
